CRONAMETAL offers complete taps and solutions for wide applications. Raw materials of threading taps range from high-speed steel(HSS), Cobalt HSSE, powdered metal (HSSE-PM) to carbide. Existing products include straight flute, spiral flute, spiral point, and form taps.

CRO taps are produced to JIS、ANSI、DIN and ISO specifications for a variety of applications.

Appropriate coatings can improve tap life, reduced friction and power consumption, less chipping and breakage, and a small increase in surface hardness. Improves the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the tapped hole: the cutting edge remains sharp, provides lubrication, reduces load and galling, and minimizes built-up edge. TiN is the most commonly used coating and has the widest application range. This Gold-colored coating provides hardness and lubricity, and good coating adhesion, suitable for processing most materials. TIN coating is not suitable for titanium and titanium alloys.

TiCN is a conventional Titanium Carbon Nitride coating for interrupted cutting and good lubricity. This Blue-Grey colored coating has a lower friction coefficient than TIN coating. It is suitable for aluminum alloy, steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloy, allowing a higher feed rate.

Black Oxide:  the porosity of oxidation keeps the cutting fluid on the tool surface, suitable for iron (iron-based) materials. It is not suitable for titanium, brass, aluminum, composites, copper, zinc, or plastics.

TiAlN, (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) a coating typically Violet-Bronze in color, is recognized as a universal high-performance coating for cutting. It offers capabilities similar to those of TiN and TiCN, but with higher heat resistance for high speeds and feeds, and “dry” machining.
